6,000 aspirants appear in NET at 16 centres in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Around 6,000 candidates appeared in the UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) examination conducted at 16 centers in Srinagar today.

The officials in the office of the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, who were coordinating the conduct of the test, said 10,300 candidates from Kashmir province had registered for appearing in the NET.

“The examination was smoothly conducted at 16 centres in Srinagar and adequate transport facilities were arranged by the respective district administrations for ferrying the candidates,” they said.          NET is being conducted by UGC every year for determining the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship in universities and colleges.
