Govt earmarks Rs 150 cr for waiver of 50 pc KCC loans

SRINAGAR: Government has earmarked Rs 150 crore for waiver of 50 per cent Kissan Credit Card (KCC) loans in the State, Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu said.

Replying to a question by Choudhary Sukhnandan in the Legislative Assembly today, Dr Drabu said  that Government has earmarked Rs 150 crore during current financial year for waiver of 50 per cent of KCC loans for the smallest and most vulnerable farmers who had an outstanding balance of less than Rs one lakh as on March 31.

The Minister said the Bank wise and district wise details of such loanees as received are being examined and relief on account of such waiver would be provided to the farmers shortly. (AGENCIES)
