SRINAGAR : The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed 602 migrant Kashmiri Pundit women in the education department under Prime Minister’s Package (PMP) in Kashmir valley.
However, some women teachers are being transferred within the district from one zone to another but they are being posted within one to seven kms from their transit camps.
This information was given by Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari in the Legislative Assembly. He said 602 women have been appointed under Prime Minister’s Package and are serving in the valley. “Some women employees have been transferred from time to time outside their parent district or within the district from one zone to another Zone,” Mr Bukhari said.
“As reports by the Director, School Education Kashmir, two teachers from Mattan were transferred to zone Anantnag while 35 were transferred within Mattan zone. As many as 72 teachers in Qazigund have been transferred within the area of 2 kms from their accommodation. In Pulwama 17 teachers were transferred within 1-7 kms from their accommodation. No transfer was made in Anantnag, Aishmuqam, Baramulla, Natnusa, Sheikhpors zones,” he said.
The Minister added that there are no specific policies for transferring women employees appointed under (PMP). However, he said due care is taken with regards to the distance from their transit accommodation to their place of posting.
